Note the opening Paragraph of Hugh Hewitt's Townhall Column:

"Not a single Democrat of any stature or visibility has stepped forward to criticize much less reject the opinion from Judge Anna Diggs Taylor declaring NSA surveillance of our enemies contacting their operatives inside our country to be unconstitutional. Their collective silence has grown more and more revealing as the chorus of legal commentary mocking the absurd opinion has grown throughout the day."

In Dr. Steven Taylor's PoliBlog we get the "balanced" response:

"This is all utter nonsense and is patently insulting to roughly 50% of the voters in the United States."

What Dr Taylor has overlooked is Mr. Hewitt's (quite correct) assertion that the Democratic response; e.g. silence in the face of such an unsupportable decision and placing political gain ahead of National Security, runs counter to the interests of all citizens, Republicans and Democrats alike.

When partisan politics are played at the expense of National Security, then those responsible truly become, as Dr Taylor suggests, "enemies of the state".

As do their apologists, Dr. Taylor.
